 Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country    We visited the sights of where “The last of the Summer Wine” was filmed in and around Holmfirth area. First we went to “Sid’s cafe” where we enjoyed lunch and had our photographs taken next to the pictures of the cast. Then we had a tour on a vintage bus that took us around the town and the countryside where different scenes were filmed.    In the pretty  village of Esholt we had a drink in “The Woolpack” of Emmerdale fame. We drove across the Yorkshire country park to Goathland – “Heartbeat” country. We had lunch outside a lovely cafe before visiting Scripp’s garage where we saw the old police cars that were used in the television show.    At Wensleydale Creamery we visited the amazing factory and  watched a demonstration of cheese making. The Wonders of the Isle of Wight The first stop was Alum Bay where we marvelled at the view across Needles. We went into the sand crafting shop and all made models filled with beautiful different coloured sands.   Next we headed to Alum Bay Glass Factory where we watched a demonstration of glass making.     At the Model Village we had a fantastic time! It was so much fun walking around; we felt like giants next to the small houses. We danced our socks off throughout the week and enjoyed amazing shows put on by the brilliant entertainment team! Some of us were very skilled and lucky to have won prizes at the fair ground.  We had great fun at "hook a duck"!  At the local bowling alley we played a few games of bowling which were great fun! Spanish Coast & PortAventura We all had an amazing time at PortAventura and experienced some serious thrills! We got drenched on the Grand Canyon Rapids, Silver River Flume and Tutuki Splash. Some brave souls also went on the tallest roller coaster in Europe, Shambhala!!! At Aves del Paraiso we took a seat in the front row of the stage and were introduced to a large number of exotic birds from different countries. This was a very entertaining and colourful show with lots of fun and laughter. Some of us had the chance to have pictures taken with a parrot on their shoulder. Showtime! We watched a spectacular and crazy western show at the Bang Bang West.  Real soldiers holed up in the guard tower, old wooden constructions, dust, bullets, watering holes, cannons, explosions and gunfire - lots of gunfire! At la  Cantina’s main stage we saw Mexican dancers and live singer with a repertoire of Mexican dances...

Painting & Drawing in France At our painting classes e veryone did so well who'd have thought we'd have so many budding Picasso’s amongst us! O ur paintings were brilliant and everyone was so proud of their work. At the chocolate factory  we had great fun watching chocolate being made, we were able to see an amazing demonstration. We also enjoyed spending time in the gift shop and we all knew that our suitcases will be even heavier now!  As the weather was so lovely and warm we headed off to the beach in nearby Hardelot. We then drove to a Château and had a look around, it was so impressive it looked just like a medieval castle. After a lovely ice cream, we went for a walk around the town and did a bit of shopping in the gift shops.
