Potters Leisure Resort with Midi & Netty

Potters Leisure Resort

Excited to be at Potters once again, we didn't hesitate to make use of all the great facilities they have onsite. We began down at the shooting range. This requires a lot of concentration and focus. After a few goes, this proved not to be a problem for our group, and we were fierce competition for the other participants. Next, we moved onto archery and after a few practice shots we soon had mastered the technique, giving Robin Hood a run for his money!

We were all rewarded with a medal for our efforts and we wore them all day!
In true JollyDays style we were the first and the last ones on the dance floor, showing off our disco moves!

It was game on as we picked our lucky cue's and challenged each other to a mini pool tournament.

We headed off to enjoy the rare December sun. What better way than to head for a day out on The Broads. Our friends at The Nancy Oldfield Trust were kind enough to take us on a gentle afternoon cruise on one of their motorboats. It was a perfect way to see The Broads and spot some of the local wildlife. We were fortunate enough to see some herrings, swans, an otter and even a deer.

Sporting our bowling shoes, stretches complete, drinks on the table it was nail biting stuff down at the bowling alley. Allison started strong,  bowling the first strike of the game with Alan following in her footsteps. He was delighted and even gave us a little celebratory dance! We finished our game with everyone having a great time and scoring really highly.

The arts and crafts studio pulled us in and it gave us a chance to show off our creative side decorating gift boxes. We enjoyed the peaceful and calm environment as we all did our best to decorate our pretty little boxes. Some used glitter, some used paper mâché, whilst others used stickers. We were all impressed with our end products.

The Potters entertainment team put on a showstopper of a performance every night. The glitz and the glamour, the pitch perfect vocalists and the hilarious antics from Buzby always left us with smiles on our faces, wanting more!

Turkey & Tinsel with Leo & Isobel

 Turkey and Tinsel

We were delighted to see all the wonderful Christmas decorations which put us in the festive mood straight away. We donned our party hats and pulled our crackers; the perfect way to start our festive holiday.

Our Christmas Day started off with a visit from Santa himself and he bought us all a little gift. We made sure we told him what was on our Christmas list, so he didn't forget!

We joined in with some great activities including Christmas Clangers, a festive quiz and a line dancing class. After a few wrong steps, we had soon mastered the routine and almost looked like pro's!

Our Christmas meal was a feast fit for a King! With Turkey and all the trimmings, we made sure we left some room for pudding!

We loved dancing the night away and in true JollyDays style and we were always the last ones on the dance floor.

We were treated to some amazing live shows, with pitch perfect vocals and dazzling dance routines.

We hit the bowling alley for a few friendly games. There were high scores and some amazing strikes. Our champion was Terry with a whopping score of 105 for the boys and Amy with an amazing score of 95 for the girls!

It's panto time....Oh, no it isn't! Oh, yes it is! We took our front row seats, armed with treats and watched as Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf got into all sorts of comical mishaps! It was a really great performance, and we laughed all the way through.

A day trip to Great Yarmouth for a spot of shopping was on the agenda as the group were keen to buy gifts and souvenirs to take home. We walked around the open-air market and treated ourselves to some sweet treats and handmade gifts. Vivienne was delighted to find another beautiful bear to add to her collection.

Our New Year’s Eve started with a fabulous five course meal with yet more party poppers and crackers for us to pull. We then perfected our line dancing once more before a sensational male vocal harmony group called The Sharps took to the stage. They sang hits by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and songs from the 60s and 70s. We danced our way through the whole show with the rest of the hotel guests. The countdown to midnight was soon upon us and with party poppers ready we brought the New Year in, in style! Full of energy and not wanting the night to end we danced away to a medley of party songs, making it a very special night.
