 Cruise - Norwegian Fjords & Falls The adventure began as we boarded our home for the week, the very impressive Balmoral. After settling into our cabins, we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, explored the ship and celebrated the 'Sailaway' with music and flag waving as we left Britain behind. The evening continued with a theatre show, live music and drinks. Life onboard was just as enjoyable as the destinations. We attended fascinating talks about Norwegian kings, Viking history and Radio Caroline , enjoyed formal dining and a Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party, and even had the opportunity to meet Captain Victor Stoica and have photographs taken with him. There was also plenty of entertainment, including comedy, music, dancing, piano performances and themed evenings. The first Norwegian stop was Stavanger , where the group explored the city’s wartime history, visited the Flyhistorisk Museum Sola and saw the impressive Swords in Rock monument.   Canal Boat Leisure Trips   In glorious sunshine, we were ready for our first canal trip. We took to the water with skipper Andrew, learning to steer our own boat and enjoyed the peaceful scenery and wildlife along the canal. We ventured through long, dark tunnels, which became the setting for an impromptu singing session.  The following day brought the much-anticipated visit to Cadbury World . The group explored the history of chocolate and the Cadbury family, learned about Bournville, made their own chocolate and enjoyed plenty of laughs with Freddo and the famous drumming gorilla. The ride was another highlight, followed naturally by some serious chocolate shopping. An unexpected trip to the cinema to see the new Michael Jackson film added another memorable experience to the day. The second canal boat adventure was another beautiful sunny day.   Bournemouth & The New Forest  A highlight of the week was the trip to Brownsea Island , reached by ferry from Poole Harbour. We enjoyed beautiful scenery, wildlife including red squirrels, peafowl and shelduck , and spectacular views towards The Needles. The island walk clocked up an impressive 10,600 steps . With the sun shining we  enjoyed a wonderful day at Bournemouth beach , paddling in the sea, writing messages in the sand and enjoying ice creams. This was followed by relaxing time in the pool, sauna and jacuzzi.                At Beaulieu , everyone explored the National Motor Museum, travelled on the monorail and vintage bus, discovered the historic house and admired everything from classic cars to impressive modern sports cars.
