Thorpe Park & Chessington
Our thrill seeking daredevils wasted no time at all and couldn't wait to conquer their first ride of the day. The Swarm, an exhilarating roller coaster immediately woke everyone up with its twists, turns, and speed.

The fun continued on Flying Fish, where Tadgh and Jane proudly rode at the front in “Plaice 1.” Throughout the morning, the group split between thrill rides such as Nemesis Inferno, Detonator, and Derren Brown’s Ghost Train, while others enjoyed gentler attractions like the teacups.

The standout moment of the day was Hyperia, England’s tallest roller coaster, which quickly became the group favourite thanks to its incredible height, speed, and thrilling twists. The day finished with the intense Saw – The Ride, inspired by the famous horror films, before everyone visited the souvenir shop for keepsakes.

Another day another rollercoaster and this time we were off to Chessington World of Adventures. The day began with laughter on Vampire, where Rachael and Chloe giggled their way through the swinging ride. The group then explored the magical Room on the Broom attraction before wandering through the zoo and aquarium areas. Luke enthusiastically pointed out different fish and crabs, while Shaun was especially fascinated by the seahorses. Excitement filled the aquarium whenever sharks or brightly coloured fish appeared. In the afternoon, some of the group bravely tackled Croc Drop, while others enjoyed more rides and animal encounters. Rattlesnake brought plenty of screams and laughter, and everyone got completely soaked on the Water Cannons. One particularly memorable moment came in Wild Asia, where the group spotted Kalinka the tiger relaxing in the sunshine.
The group started with the lively Ostrich Stampede before some of the more adventurous members took on Mandrill Mayhem, complete with its dramatic backward drop. More thrills followed on Mamba Strike and Dragon’s Fury, whose spinning carts left everyone breathless with laughter. The pace slowed slightly with the gentle Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, which Julie particularly loved, even buying her own Gruffalo souvenir afterwards. The afternoon included ice creams, more rides, and time spent watching animals including sea lions, meerkats, zebras, and porcupines. The group also learned interesting facts about ostrich eggs before ending the day with another ride on Vampire and a splash-filled log flume adventure.

We spent a day at the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. As we walked through the town, Rachael acted as an excellent guide, sharing her knowledge of the harbour, historic ships, and local landmarks. After lunch, the group travelled up the tower to enjoy spectacular panoramic views stretching as far as the Isle of Wight. One of the highlights was the famous glass floor. Matthew confidently stepped out across it while others watched nervously. Tadgh, Luke, Matthew, and Chloe then climbed to the very top of the tower for even more breathtaking views and plenty of photographs.

The fun continued later at the bowling alley, where friendly competition and laughter filled the afternoon, with Luke impressing everyone by scoring several strikes. Back at the lodge, a relaxed barbecue brought the day to a cheerful close.
We travelled to Thursley Nature Reserve for a peaceful walk around the lakes and historic commons. The sunny weather made it the perfect setting to admire the wildlife and scenery, including tadpoles and black darter dragonflies. There were plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
