Dutch Bulb Fields & Amsterdam
Our spring holiday in the Netherlands was a wonderful mix of vibrant flowers, historic towns, scenic waterways, and unforgettable experiences. The trip began with a visit to Amsterdam, where we explored the city's famous canals, elegant bridges, bustling streets, and historic landmarks. Highlights included walking through the browsing the colourful floating flower market, enjoying a relaxing canal cruise past Anne Frank's House, and spending time in the lively atmosphere of Dam Square.

A 'must' of the holiday was our visit to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens. Surrounded by millions of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and countless other spring flowers, we wandered through beautifully landscaped gardens, crossed picturesque bridges, visited a historic windmill, and enjoyed a peaceful electric boat trip through the surrounding bulb fields, where endless ribbons of colour stretched across the countryside.

We also discovered the historic harbour town of Hoorn, learning about its rich maritime heritage while strolling along the waterfront and through its charming cobbled streets. In Noordwijkerhout, we admired the spectacular flower parade floats before the main event, each one decorated with thousands of fresh flowers depicting colourful characters and imaginative scenes.
Our final full day took us to the attractive city of Haarlem, where we explored independent shops, sampled delicious Dutch cheese, and relaxed in welcoming cafés before returning to Keukenhof for the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek flower parade. Watching the magnificent floral floats, accompanied by music and performers, provided a truly memorable finale to the holiday.
