Classis Cornwall with Brigitte & Russell

Classic Cornwall

A visit to the incredible Eden Project was a major highlight of the holiday. The group explored the spectacular gardens and enormous biomes, experiencing the tropical heat of the Rainforest Biome and the relaxed atmosphere of the Mediterranean Biome.

We visited the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, where we learned about the rescue and rehabilitation of seals and enjoyed seeing the animals up close.

This was followed by a visit to Trenance Chocolate, where everyone enjoyed handmade chocolates and indulgent hot chocolate. What a treat.

A fun-filled day visiting
Newquay Zoo, followed by a walk along the famous Fistral Beach, where surfers could be seen riding the Atlantic waves.

Lunch at Rick Stein's Fish & Chips was a perfect seaside treat before an afternoon exploring the underwater world at the Blue Reef Aquarium, including the memorable experience of walking beneath sharks and rays. The evening continued with games of pool and dominoes before dinner overlooking the beach.

One of Cornwall's most dramatic destinations, Tintagel Castle, provided breathtaking views and a chance to explore the legends surrounding King Arthur. Afterwards, the group enjoyed a traditional Cornish cream tea before visiting the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, famous as the filming location for Doc Martin. A close encounter with a very determined seagull added some extra excitement to the obligatory seaside ice cream!

A sunny day trip to St Ives followed, with the group enjoying a scenic train journey from St Erth along Cornwall's beautiful coastline. They spent the day strolling along the seafront, exploring the cobbled streets, browsing the shops and relaxing over lunch by the water before returning to Newquay for some shopping and cake.

The final full day took the group to the charming seaside town of Looe, known as the setting for Beyond Paradise. A boat trip to Looe Island was particularly memorable, with calm seas and several playful seals appearing around the boat.

The group also celebrated Eirwen's birthday with party snacks, cake and plenty of warmth and laughter.
