Christmas at Potters with Andy & Naomi
Christmas at Potters
Our magical JollyDays Christmas break at Potters Five Lakes was filled with festive sparkle, laughter, and the joy of new friendships. We were greeted by the friendly entertainment team, enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine, and shared our first wonderful three-course dinner together. The evening entertainment set the tone for the holiday, with lively music and a nostalgic Totally 80s show that soon had everyone dancing and enjoying the festive spirit.
Christmas Eve brought a full day of activities and festive fun. We began joining in with Dancercise and Prancercise to start the day with energy and laughter. Singing in the guest choir added to the festive feeling as we practised traditional carols together. The afternoon continued outdoors with archery and rifle shooting, where some impressive scores and a bronze medal created plenty of excitement and friendly competition.
Later, we relaxed with drinks while enjoying a wonderful Christmas concert by the Chelmsford Silver Band. The evening brought bingo, a heart-warming theatre show celebrating a century of Christmas music, and a late-night festive game show that ended Christmas Eve with laughter and anticipation for the big day ahead.

Christmas Day began with warm wishes and the joyful opening of presents together in the Lakeview Lounge. A leisurely breakfast followed, surrounded by festive decorations and cheerful conversation. The morning continued with creative arts and crafts, where we made our own colourful Christmas gonk ornaments, followed by drinks and lively Christmas music bingo. The highlight of the afternoon was a beautifully prepared Christmas lunch, enjoyed in elegant surroundings with crackers, festive hats and plenty of laughter. The celebrations carried on with the traditional King’s Speech, joyful bell ringing in the theatre, hot chocolates and live music. In the evening, we gathered once again for dinner before enjoying the dazzling theatre show Cabaret Club, which brought glamour, music and sparkle to a perfect Christmas night.
Boxing Day kept the fun going with a relaxed morning exploring the Pop-in Shop before heading outside for a sunny and laughter-filled round of crazy golf. The day continued with a variety of activities including craft workshops, swimming, quizzes and games, with plenty of festive treats and hot chocolates along the way. Choir rehearsals and bell ringing added to the lively atmosphere, and by evening we were ready for more entertainment. After dinner and bingo, we enjoyed the energetic theatre show Simply the Best, which ended with a moving performance of Lean on Me. The celebrations continued in the Garden Bar as music played and we danced the night away together in true JollyDays style.
