New Years Party (Gunton Hall) with Oli & Marguerite
New Years Party (Gunton Hall)

Our JollyDays New Year celebration at Gunton Hall was a spectacular way to welcome 2026, packed with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. The evening entertainment, Royal Rhapsody, a Freddie Mercury and Queen tribute, had everyone rocking out and filling the dance floor, perfectly kicking off the celebrations in style.
New Year’s Eve dawned with a buzz of excitement. After a hearty breakfast, we started the day with a True or False quiz, achieving an impressive score of 14, before heading straight into a fun-filled barn dancing session. Everyone joined in, spinning and stepping through the Gay Gordon and Cha Cha, with partnerships forming and laughter echoing around the room. Target bean bag competitions and shuffleboard added to the morning’s festivities, with plenty of cheers for impressive scores, including joint first place for Craig and Anna. After lunch, we were entertained by the pantomime Dick Whittington, full of colour, audience participation, and side-splitting comedy, before preparing for the highlight of the day – the New Year’s Eve Party.
The evening celebrations began with mulled cider and a breathtaking lakeside firework display that lit up the sky in shimmering colours. Back inside, we enjoyed a delicious festive dinner with crackers, jokes, and party hats, before being swept onto the dance floor by incredible entertainment. From a Neil Diamond tribute to Saturday Night Bee Gees and ABBA Fantastic, the hits kept us dancing and singing all night. The Scottish piper led a dramatic entrance onto the stage, setting the scene for the live countdown. When the clock struck midnight, golden streamers and balloons rained down as we linked arms to sing Auld Lang Syne, ringing in 2025 with joy, friendship, and excitement. The celebrations continued into the early hours, with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories making it a night to remember.
New Year’s Day began with a well-deserved hearty breakfast, coffee, and a touch of Bucks Fizz. The morning included a lively quiz supporting Macmillan Cancer Research, line dancing with plenty of spins and steps from Kay, Trisha, Mike, and Michael, and some relaxing time in the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, or pool. After lunch, we enjoyed the uplifting matinee show celebrating the music of John Denver, before freshening up for our final evening. Dinner was delicious as always, and the night’s entertainment, Quattro – The Ultimate Tribute to Suzi Quatro, had the entire group back on the dance floor, celebrating, singing, and dancing the night away. It was the perfect end to a fantastic New Year break.
