Christmas Celebrations at Warners (Gunton Hall) with Midi & Netty

 Christmas Celebrations at Warners

(Gunton Hall)

Our wonderful JollyDays Christmas holiday at Gunton Hall in Norfolk began with excitement and festive cheer as we travelled together to celebrate the most magical time of the year.

Christmas Eve brought a day packed with activities, laughter and festive fun. After breakfast we headed outdoors to try archery, where some hidden talents soon appeared, including a brilliant gold hit that earned plenty of cheers. Later, we joined in with Christmas Clangers, ringing handbells along to festive music and filling the room with laughter. The afternoon continued with dancing at the Lakeview Pavilion, a lively Christmas quiz, and a hilarious comedy performance that had everyone in stitches.

As evening approached, we gathered outside for a beautiful carol service before watching a spectacular firework display by the lake, lighting up the night sky in a truly magical Christmas Eve moment. After dinner, the celebrations continued with music, dancing and a soulful performance by Uche Eke, whose Motown classics soon had the whole group back on the dance floor enjoying the festive spirit.

Christmas Day itself was filled with warmth, laughter and wonderful traditions. Dressed in our festive jumpers, we shared Christmas greetings before enjoying breakfast together and watching a festive performance from the Warner entertainment team. One of the highlights of the morning came when Santa made a grand arrival in a classic car with his elves, delighting everyone and providing the perfect photo opportunity. We then opened our thoughtful Christmas presents from JollyDays, bringing smiles all around. After drinks and a quiz, we sat down to a delicious Christmas lunch with all the traditional trimmings. The afternoon included classic comedy, the King’s Christmas Speech and more entertainment before we dressed up for a glamorous evening of music, dancing and festive performances. With the band playing and the dance floor full once again, it was the perfect way to celebrate Christmas Day together.

Boxing Day kept the festive energy going with another fun-filled programme of activities. After breakfast, many of us tried rifle shooting, discovering hidden talents and enjoying plenty of friendly competition. Meanwhile, beanbag target games brought lots of laughter.

Later we gathered for more games and a hot drink before lunch, followed by an afternoon pantomime performance of Dick Whittington. Sitting in the front row certainly had its surprises, with one of our group being playfully involved in the show to everyone’s amusement. The evening brought another delicious dinner followed by lively entertainment from the energetic duo New York Minute, whose music soon had everyone dancing once again. A late-night disco and a final round of drinks rounded off a brilliant Boxing Day filled with fun and laughter.
