Christmas Celebrations at Warners (Alvaston) with Darren & Isobel

 Christmas Celebrations at Warners

Our festive JollyDays Christmas holiday at Alvaston Hall was filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of seasonal magic from beginning to end. The celebrations began as we met our fellow travellers over lunch at a charming garden centre before arriving at Alvaston Hall, where we settled into our cosy rooms and enjoyed a wonderful three-course dinner. The evening set the tone for the holiday with fantastic live entertainment, singing, dancing and a brilliant vocal impressionist performance that had everyone clapping and joining in.

Christmas Eve brought a full day of fun and friendly competition. After a hearty breakfast we took part in a lively quiz, proudly finishing second, before enjoying activities such as indoor curling, cornhole and line dancing. There were plenty of laughs along the way, including an impressive winning throw during cornhole and a fantastic table tennis victory that had the whole group cheering.

The evening continued with another delicious dinner followed by a lively tribute show celebrating the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, which soon had everyone dancing the night away.

Christmas Day arrived full of excitement as we exchanged presents and began the morning with Bucks Fizz and festive jumpers. One of the highlights of the day was the grand arrival of Santa, who rode in on a motorcycle accompanied by Rudolph, Mrs Claus and cheerful elves.

The celebrations continued with bell ringing, festive quizzes and a delicious five-course Christmas lunch complete with crackers and laughter. The afternoon brought Christmas shows, the King’s Speech and the classic film Home Alone, before the evening concluded with a heartwarming carol concert and a lively Christmas party filled with music, dancing and festive cheer.

Boxing Day kept the fun going with activities including rifle shooting, archery, the Finnish game Mölkky and Nintendo Switch bowling, all enjoyed with plenty of friendly rivalry.

After lunch we were thoroughly entertained by a hilarious pantomime performance of Dick Whittington

The evening brought more wonderful entertainment, including songs from Michael Bublé, a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky and a fantastic tribute show celebrating The Beatles, which had everyone back on the dance floor singing along to the classic hits.
