Cyprus Sun with Nick, Ase, Hayley & Darren

Cyprus Sun

The sun was shining and we couldn't wait to make a splash in the fabulous outdoor swimming pool. The water just looked irresistible.

Every morning we joined in with the aqua aerobics. We all agreed it was a fun way to keep fit.

Of course, we made sure we did plenty of relaxing on the comfortable sun loungers, topping up our tans.

A day spent exploring the Cypriot coastline was a must! We all got to be captains of the ship as we sailed along in the glorious sunshine.

We stopped to view some large caves, one of which had been used as a church and still had various pictures of saints hanging from its walls. A little further along the coast we were able to take some close photos of Lovers Bridge, a place popular to visit by newlyweds and couples. The captain weighed the anchor to allow passengers to have a swim in the turquoise blue Mediterranean Sea. A few brave passengers lowered themselves down the ladders at the end of the boat, including Michael and Darren who swam laps around the boat and posed for his photo to be taken.

The captain had told us we may be lucky enough to spot some turtles and to our utter joy we did! It was amazing to see them gracefully swimming past.

An ice cream treat was always a must on one of our holidays!

Every evening we headed down to the strip where there was always a bar providing fabulous live music. One of our favourite nights was a tribute to Rod Stewart and Tina Turner. We didn't need any persuasion to hit the dance floor.

We were off on another adventure, this time on an open top bus. Our first stop was in Famagusta where we marvelled at the ancient Venetian buildings.
The Saint Nicholas’s Cathedral was breathtaking. Next we wandered through the deserted streets of Ghost Town where the buildings have remained desolate since 1974. It felt very eerie walking around the abandoned streets.

Beach days are our favourite days! There is nothing quite like feeling the sand between your toes. It wasn't long before we were cooling off in the crystal clear water, practising our swimming and jumping the tiny waves!

There were some great facilities in our hotel and for those who were happy to get a bit of shade from the midday sun joined in with the pool tournaments.
