Canterbury & Margate with Russell & Debbie

Canterbury & Margate

Oh we do love to be beside the seaside! The sun was shinning and we enjoyed soaking up the fresh sea air and taking in the marvellous views of the pebbled beach.

We couldn't resist trying our luck on the traditional arcade games hoping to win some tickets that we could exchange for a prize!

What could be better than treating ourselves to a decadent ice cream sundae with all the toppings! We were on holiday after all!

Canterbury Cathedral was just as beautiful as we had imagined. A fascinating morning was spent learning all about its history. The stained glass windows were so bright and ornate which looked even more pretty as the sun shone through. We were lucky to listen to the Canterbury bell which rings everyday at 11am to remember those that haven given themselves in service.

We got to stand on the actual spot where Thomas Becket was murdered.

It was all aboard the Jolly bus for a fun day out at Diggerland where we got to ride, drive and operate real diggers, dumpers and other full- size construction machinery.

The Digger Robot ride was so much fun as we took to the track on a JBC navigating our way through twists and turns. We had to be careful not to get stuck in the mud!

We boarded the Winston Churchill train for a trip on the mini railway. We passed through lush, green fields where animals were roaming freely towards the seaside town of Whitstable. We even got to chat to the engine driver.

Dover Castle was a brilliant place to explore. We roamed around he great tower with its recreated medieval interior and uncovered the world of Henry II. We all took it in turns to sit on the King's throne before climbing to the top of the tower to enjoy the amazing panoramic views.

Today was the day we were going on our wild adventure at Por Lympne Safari Park. We board our jeep and set off around the reserve which was divided into two sections - Africa and Asia. It was amazing to be so close to the black rhino, zebras, tigers and gorillas.
