The Wonders of the Isle of Wight with Matt & Isobel

The Wonders of the Isle of Wight

Like all good tourists we headed to the iconic Alum Bay and The Needles. The views were spectacular.

Creativity flowed at the Sand Shop and Alum Bay Glass Studio, where we layered sands into keepsake ornaments. We were all very proud of our creations!

We watched the skilled glass men transform molten glass into delicate vases before getting to sample some sweet treats at the Sweet Factory.

We took the chairlift from cliff-top to beach, marvelling at the dramatic white rocks and multi-coloured sand cliffs.

The evening entertainment was incredible. We started with a dance workshop, learning the Cha Cha under patient guidance, before stepping into a pop choir to perform Mamma Mia on stage — an experience full of joy, laughter, and a little nervous excitement.

One afternoon brought an archery and rifle shooting session, with arrows and bullets flying as cheers and encouragement filled the air.

It was great to see where we actually hit the target. There were some accurate shots!
Today was a day of nostalgia and friendly competition. At Havenstreet Steam Railway, we travelled through the island’s history aboard beautifully restored Victorian carriages,

After, we explored the museum, and tried on the Station Master’s hat for fun.

The games room proved to be a hit with our group. from shuffleboard to pool there was something for everyone. It was great to see everybody cheering for each other.

Later, at Ryde Superbowl, the Ladies vs Men ten-pin bowling contest had everyone cheering, with Tracey and Julie claiming top scores.
