Our first stadium tour was Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC.  On arrival the group were each given a headset for our audio guide of the stadium.  The tour started with a short video on the history of the club and some of the players & trophies which had been won since the club started in 1892.  The tour covered visiting the Clubs Museum exhibiting so many trophies and memorabilia, the highlight being the actual European Cup that they were allowed to keep after winning it for the 5^th time in 2005, We explored the changing rooms, hospitality lounges, the press room, run down the players tunnel and sat in the Liverpool dugout. 

Our second stadium tour was “The Stadium of Light” and the Manchester United tour, a stadium that holds 75,643 supporters. After spending time in the clubs museum, which is spread over 3 floors, we met our tour guide, Stan who gave us a personal tour of the Stadium. Again we visited the changing rooms, hospitality lounge, VIP seats, ran down the tunnel to the noise of the crowd and spent 2 hours exploring places that most people don’t get to see. 

Our third Stadium tour was the Etihad Stadium the home of Manchester City Football Club. The stadium was originally built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games at a cost of £110 million, and in 2005 taken over by Manchester City FC, having a seating capacity of 53,359. On our tour we were shown where the coach arrives on match day and took the same route to the dressing rooms. The changing area is circular in shape so that the manager can see all the players when giving out his instructions. We were lucky to meet a former Captain of Manchester City who also became manager, Tony Book, a true Legend. He was at the club being interviewed for their media station. Once again we were shown around the stadium, visiting changing rooms, VIP suites, the Press Room, we went pitch side and sat in the clubs dug out. 

During our stay we enjoyed playing games of ten pin bowling and had great fun taking part in pool tournaments. 

One evening we had booked to go to a restaurant and entertainment venue in Blackpool. The show started with a Legends Tribute evening featuring Tom Jones, Michael Jackson, Elvis and Amy Winehouse. Great entertainment and we had seats right at the front by the stage.
