Potters Leisure Resort with Oli & Netty

 Potters Leisure Resort

We arrived at the luxurious 5* resort and were greeted with mince pies upon arrival; what a treat! Everywhere we looked were beautiful Christmas decorations which certainly got us in the festive mood!

Next on the agenda was rifle shooting where our leaders gave good tuition in how to use the rifles safely. In turns we tried our best to aim at the target. The instructors were very pleased with our progress over the session.
It was soon time to move onto our next weapon of choice, the bow! Our archery tuition was led by Bruno, a friendly guy who helped us all reach higher potential. The archery was quite tricky, but we had clearly impressed him with our skills as we were all presented with medals at the end.

A new game for all of us was Chukka Hoop in the sports hall, a fun and fast paced competition where we all scored highly.

We got creative in the arts room making and Iris Card. This Christmas card making activity used an old Danish method similar to origami or decoupage. We all had fun and made some beautiful cards to take home.

The entertainment was always first class! We enjoyed a variety of upbeat, lively shows. One of our favourites was  'A Night of Variety'. The sensational entertainments team covered everything from Musicals to Motown. An evening of laughs, music and stories.

We drove to Horsey Gap a rural beach spot on the Norfolk coast. This area of sand dunes and beaches is famous for being the best spot in the UK for watching seals and their pups over winter on the beach. As we walked through the sand dunes, on this cold but bright day we were treated to fantastic scenes of families of seals as far as the eye could see!

A few of us managed to conquer the climbing wall managing to reach the top!

We took a scenic drive to Nancy Oldfield Trust. The centre caters for disabilities and is right on the Norfolk broads. We met our captain and skipper and boarded the fantastic cruiser for a Christmassy boat trip on the Broads! Mince pies, hot chocolates and festive lights all added to the experience. We spent the morning spotting wildlife such as herons, marsh harriers and kingfishers. What a sight to behold!

In Great Yarmouth we visited the famous Wellington Pier and enjoyed a game of Tenpin bowling! It was a close competition with high scores all round. The games continued on the pool table as we all tried our best to pot the lucky black ball!
