Christmas Celebrations
The magic of Christmas still exists! What a wonderful surprise visit from Father Christmas and his friends! He took the time to say hello and ask us what was on our Christmas list.
There were so many great activities for us to join in with. Christmas Clangers was so much fun as we tried follow the music ringing our different sounding handbells. Before long we had perfected a well known carol.
It
was then time to take our seats for the highlight of the day, the afternoon
pantomime! This year’s performance was the well-known tale of Cinderella and
the Ugly Sisters. There were many amusing special effects and silly jokes and
of course we all had a chance to join in with ‘it’s behind you’ and ‘oh no it isn’t’. We were all thrilled when
the prince discovered the shiny shoe fitted Cinderella rather than the Ugly
Sisters! Such fun. To our delight we were invited onto the stage to have our
photographs taken with the fabulous cast.
the fireworks over the lake. We wrapped up warm and watched in wonder as the different colours and patterns launched into the night sky with a series of pops, whizzes and bangs.
Every evening we were treated to some spectacular shows. Musicals Now was a medley of songs from some of our most loved West End musicals. A group called Hitzville, a Motown group sang soulful tunes with pitch perfect harmonies. You could always find us on the dance floor, showing off our disco moves.
Our active group loved a mini tournament playing pool, table tennis and darts. Everyone showed great sportsmanship.
