Attractions of Blackpool with Darren & Isobel

Attractions of Blackpool

Our first stop was the iconic Blackpool Tower and we watched a 4D video of Blackpool and all the attractions. We visited the glass floor at the top of the tower where all the group were brave enough to walk onto it and admired the fantastic views across Blackpool. Some of the group went even further and climbed up to the highest point!

The Tower Circus gave us a thrilling, spectacular show with amazing acts, astonishing acrobats, dare-devil stunts and hilarious comedy antics from the clowns. An interval treat of popcorn and treats were enjoyed before being entertained throughout the second half.

A day of glorious sunshine as drove to the Lake District for a boat trip on Lake Windermere. Our trip took us from beautiful Bowness to Ambleside Pier. We took a lovely walk at Ambleside and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine with a drink by the water’s edge watching the boats sail by.

A day of celebrity spotting at Madam Tussauds. The group enjoyed having photos taken with all of their favourite pop and tv stars. We even managed to mingle with Royalty. We played some interactive games and visited the Rovers Return where we enjoyed a drink and biscuits with some of the older cast members such as Deirdre & Ken Barlow.

Having our picture taken with all the iconic Blackpool attractions behind us was great fun.

We tried our luck at the amusement arcades spending our 2ps and hoping to win some great prizes.

On our adventures we found a small shop selling homemade fudge. The staff invited the group to watch the fudge being made and prepared, ready for selling and we were delighted to get to sample some of the freshly made fudge. It was so delicious we ended up buying some to take home with us.

We all enjoyed an ice-cream as we walked in the glorious sunshine along the seafront.

After our evening meals we played pool. The competition heated up as we improved with every game.

The Sea Life Centre was fascinating. We  saw the rock pools, full of starfish, crabs and mermaids purse containing the eggs of the Ray fish. We played some of the interactive games and visited the Rain-forest section. The highlight being the huge glass tunnel where the large fish and sharks swam above us.

The Blackpool Dungeons did their best to scare us but we bravely and excitedly entered the darkness. It was a fantastic experience with an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages and scenes.

Some last minute shopping for gifts and treats to take home and we shopped till we dropped.  Some of us got a Blackpool t-shirt with our names written on. How cool!
