Santa's Magic - Lapland with David & Ase

 Santa's Magic - Lapland

We excitedly set set off into the snowy paradise wrapped up in our warm clothes. Our first stop was Father Christmas's house, where the magic really kicked into gear. We were led to his home, where we were greeted by the mischievous elf Tinkerbell, who playfully threw snowballs at us before we entered. Inside, we were treated to a quiz, then met Father Christmas himself, who amazed us by knowing each of our names! He asked us all if we'd been good this year—such a magical moment, captured in photos.

Little cottages with twinkling lights dotted the landscape, and we had the chance to meet the reindeer—Rudolf was our favourite!

The smells of freshly baked goodies was all too tempting so we decided to stop at the Gingerbread House, where we rolled dough and baked our own gingerbread cookies.

The magic continued as we set out for  Lapp village to meet the incredible husky teams. The excitement was clear to see as we pet the friendly dogs, and then it was time for our own sled ride—a true highlight! Four of us piled onto a sled, snuggled in reindeer skins to keep warm, and were pulled through the forest by a pack of eight huskies. The cold air stung our faces as we zoomed past snow-covered trees, the dogs barking and pulling with incredible strength. The whole experience was exhilarating! The fun didn’t stop there—we then enjoyed a reindeer sleigh ride through the forest, guided by the friendly reindeer owners who shared their fascinating way of life with us.

We warmed up by the fire afterward, sipping on hot fruit juice and roasting marshmallows while nibbling on Finnish sweet bread.

Next up was Elf School, where we crafted Christmas decorations which we all agreed would make fabulous mementos.

One afternoon we took a gondola ride to Levi town, where we shopped for souvenirs. With some free time in the village, we marvelled at the skiers and tobogganers flying down the slopes. It looked so much fun!
