Warners- Alvaston Hall
We were so excited to be at Alvaston Hall which had been beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and pretty decorations. It certainly put us in the festive mood.
One of the many fantastic activities for us to join in with was Christmas Clangers. We were each given a different tuned handbell and following the music we had to ring our bell when it was our turn. We all practised Jingle Bells and Little Donkey before giving our star performance! We gave it our all and to everyone's surprise, the practice paid off and we gave our audience a fabulous performance. We received a wonderful round of applause for everyone's great effort and the group took a bow at the end, feeling so proud.
This active group hit the dance floor ready for a line dancing class. After a few wrong steps and losing track (which gave us lots of laughs) we never gave up and continued practising until it was time to dance along with the music. All of us had an absolutely brilliant time and before long, we looked like professionals!
A great morning was spent in Nantwich and we visited the museum that was packed with fascinating displays and artefacts. We learnt about the Great Fire in Tudor times and the battle of Nantwich during the English Civil War. We had great fun trying on some of the period costumes before visiting the gift shop to buy some souvenirs and gifts to take home.
You would always find us dancing the night away to the amazing live shows. We sang away at the top of our voices to some of our most loved show-stopping tunes. The dance routines and glitz and glamour was fantastic!
A few of us decided to enjoy a swim and relax in the jacuzzi for a while. The perfect way to end our active days.
It was back to Alvaston Hall for an afternoon of fun. It was time for the Festive Choir Workshop and we took to the floor, where we were handed our song sheet with a Christmas classic 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' by Band Aid. After a few rehearsals and vocal warm ups we put on wigs and feather boas to make it even more fun! Once we had all stopped giggling, we sang our hearts out and what an amazing performance it was by everyone.
The afternoon was spent at the bowling alley where we split into two teams and had a fabulous game with lots of high scores and even a few strikes. It was a close call, but the overall winner of the day was David H, with a whopping score of 116!
