Best of Benidorm
Leaving a rainy UK behind, we were more than happy with this beautiful, warm weather!
With the Spanish summer sun shining down on us, we needed the fresh water from the swimming pool and the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea to cool off. We splashed around and practised our swimming.
We set sail on the smooth sea to the island of Tabarca, a small Mediterranean island with cobbled streets, a little harbour with small fishing boats and traditional Spanish houses all surrounded by beautiful views of the mainland. We sampled traditional, local dishes for lunch. The Paella and fresh fish was especially delicious.
Lots of time was spent exploring the old, cobbled streets of Benidorm town.
Jose and Maria were an amazing duo who performed pop hits from the decades. Most of us graced the dance floor throughout the evening and showed off some great dance moves. Richard entertained us all with his fabulous air guitar.
We found a great bar with a karaoke machine where we spent most of our evenings!
We took it turns singing some of our favourite songs and cheered each other on. It was fantastic to see how everyone's performances grew in confidence over the few days.
As we climbed to the top of the hill, the views overlooking the coastline and the town were simply stunning.
An afternoon on the mini train took us on a tour for a 2 hour journey around the new and old town, and gave us spectacular views of the coast. We waved at all the passers-by and they all waved back. We loved it!
We headed for the shops to find some souvenirs to take back with us. Everyone found different little items they liked, with the most impressive being Roy's 'Capitan' hat. We shopped until we dropped
Really appreciate your post. Benidorm holidays really are something special.
