Butlins, Fun & Dancing (Skegness)
We always look forward to meeting the friendly Red Coats at Butlins. They are always full of energy and always make our time so fun .
The entertainment team never disappoint. The glitzy ABBA extravaganza had us up on our feet dancing the night away to all their famous hits. The
Jersey Quartet was also a firm favourite of ours with many hit songs of the 50's being belted
out with amazing harmonies.
A wonderful production of the pantomime, 'sleeping beauty' took us to a magical faraway land with sparkling costumes, a witty script and some memorable singing and acting.
We laughed and booed in all of the right places.
We
had such fun trying all of the rides out; from the beautiful horses on the
carousel, to the spinning and whirling waltzers and rides that flew high
through the air.
The amusement arcade kept us entertained as we tried our luck on the two
pence machines and the fun arcade games.
A trip to the seal sanctuary was very interesting as we spent a couple of hours learning all
about the animals in the sanctuary, from the super seals and pushy alpacas, to
the woolly sheep and butterflies with their delicate wings, not forgetting of
course plenty of penguins, a variety of birds and fearsome crocodiles.
The
chaps impressed everyone with their skilful driving on the go cart track and
the dodgems. With a steady hand and a skilful eye some of us were lucky enough
to win soft toys on the shooting ducks game.
A tense competition was had down at the bowling alley where after some great scores and skilful bowling we crowned Trevor the overall champion for the men and Carol for the woman.
