The Wonders of the Isle of Wight
What a wonderful holiday! The food and entertainment at the resort were outstanding, every evening we enjoyed fantastic dinners before taking our front row seats in the Mariners Lounge for bingo, dancing and fabulous shows! One of our favourites was the Black Sheikhs, an extremely talented Vintage Jazz Band who delivered unique versions of today’s rock and pop classics in a 1920’s style.
We visited Alum Bay and admired the famous view of the Needles. At the sand crafting shop we filled shapes with beautiful different coloured sands. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Glass Factory where we watched a wonderful glass blowing demonstration.
At the beautiful Model Village we enjoyed wandering around the grounds and took the challenge of finding 20 miniature squirrels hidden in the garden.
On a beautiful sunny day we went to the Isle of Wight Zoo. We saw an incredible range of animals, with our
favourites being the white lions and the playful lemurs!
We had a great time playing fun games in the sunshine, including hoopla, tennis, bowls and archery. We especially enjoyed a tense game of giant jenga, with the tower
reaching into the clouds before it finally fell down!
As usual we headed to the local bowling alley for a morning of fun. Everyone
achieved smashing scores and we even managed to beat the JollyDays staff top
score, with an exceptional 220!
