Norfolk - Boats, Trains & Seaside
We had sailing lessons and
all learned really quick how to tack and jibe. We stopped for a
picnic lunch before heading out onto Barton Broad, which is where Lord Nelson
learnt to sail as a boy. It was wonderful to glide through
the water in the beautiful sunshine.
In Wroxham we started our exciting canoe journey. We spent the whole day on the water where we paddled effortlessly with the flow of the river. The wildlife was amazing, we saw fish in the crystal clear water and birds including Grebes, Kingfishers and Canada Geese.
We boarded the Nancy Bee, a 38ft cruiser, and sailed to Horning, the
home of the steam ferry. We spent the all day cruising along the Broads and we all took a turn at driving the boat. At the end of the day we
were all awarded with a certificates for driving the boat.
In the town of Holt we took a steam train ride along the coast to Sheringham.
We had a great time doing some shopping and sight-seeing along the beautiful
coastline.
Our next destination was Cromer where we toured the famous coastal town and
then visited the Shire horse sanctuary. We had a wonderful time visiting the farming bygones museum and all loved petting the animals.
