We were all bursting with excitement as we boarded the plane and headed for the sun! We soon settled into our very comfortable, spacious rooms and set off exploring our beautiful hotel.
During our holiday, we went for many leisurely ambles in the glorious sunshine, enjoying ice creams and looking at some amazing sand sculptures built by very talented people. Everybody thought they were amazing! We watched the most exotic and colourful carnival any of us had ever seen - the costumes were out of this world and there was lots of dancing and drums! 
We took the scenic drive up to Mount Teide, taking in the vast volcanic rock - everyone agreed what an awesome sight it was! At one stage we were above the clouds which was a great experience. We were also up in the clouds on our beautiful visit to Icod, where we saw a remarkable tree that was a thousand years old!
We spent a fantastic morning at the water park, where we had pictures taken with some parakeets, parrots and got to see many other stunning birds. Some had a paddle whilst others had a wonderful time on the water slides and going around 'The Lazy River' in rubber rings! That afternoon we saw a dolphin show and there were 'oooooohs!' and aaaaahhh's!' in abundance! IT was an awesome event and we even got to pet the dolphins at the end of the show - how lucky were we! Everyone loved it. 
On another glorious day we set out for a boat trip to spot the whales and dolphins! It was amazing to see them in their natural environment and we were very entertained by the jumping dolphins.
Over the week we ate beautiful fresh food and were entertained by singers and bands that we danced the nights away to. One evening we did karaoke and got a huge round of applause from everybody in the restaurant. What a truly super holiday!
