Potters Leisure Resort with Colin, Derek & Jeanette

On our way to Potters we stopped off for lunch at a nice country pub. Once at our 5* leisure resort we unpacked and settled in to our extremely spacious rooms. Once refreshed, it was off to the restaurant for some top quality food and then into the Atlas theatre for a full night of high quality entertainment. The shows went on until late and finished on a tribute “Take That” group.
The following day, with the weather being miserable, we decided to go into Great Yarmouth for a competitive, but fun, game of 10 pin bowling. Steven was the star with a top score of 97!! We had lunch at a nice cafe and then bought some postcards. It was back to Potters for some afternoon entertainment. We took part in the curling competition, but unfortunately didn’t win. After dinner we went into the Atlas theatre, firstly for a game of bingo and after, for another great night of entertainment. We danced to an “Abba” tribute and then “the Blues Brothers” group. At the end of the entertainment in the Atlas we headed for the Terrace bar and had a dance whilst listening to a very good female singer. It was gone midnight before we left for bed!
Breakfast was, as usual, substantial with a great choice of food! Afterwards we went to the archery   a range and took instruction. It was good fun trying to hit the targets! In the afternoon we played several games of pool and table top football before getting ready for dinner. We played bingo and came close to winning. We then had another night of West end quality entertainment and an adult talent show. We finished off in the Terrace bar with more singing and dancing until very late!
The following morning, after breakfast, we went into the Atlas theatre and joined in with the line dancing before enjoying a game of mini golf. In the afternoon we took a walk down to the beach and took in the fresh sea air! Once back inside we had a fun time in the old fashioned fayre. We threw darts and balls at coconuts and hooked plastic ducks, winning raffle tickets for the draw. At the end it was time to throw a custard pie at Mark, the main entertainment host. It looked great fun! We then had a game of “Hoy Bingo” before getting organised for dinner and another game of bingo before a night of spectacular show time. It was absolutely fantastic and the final show was of Les Miserables! The entertainment team deserved and received a standing ovation. We finished the night off with a flag waving and singing to “Auld Lang Syne” and other nationalistic songs. It was very moving. We weren’t quite finished; it was back to the Terrace bar for the very last dancing of the night.
Our last morning and after breakfast we packed up our bags, said goodbye to Potters and headed for lunch in a nice Essex village pub and were lucky enough to watch the Morris dancers.
It had been a super week and we would love to see you all again next year for more fun and entertainment at Potters!
