Isle of Wight with Derek, Wendy & Mel

We had fine dining and late night dancing at our beautiful resort on The Isle of Wight. The weekend had a great party atmosphere with fantastic night shows from musicians, featuring a fantastic tribute “Phil Collins” group. The weekend gave way to a Turkey and Tinsel week, so the party continued through to the last night being a New Years Party. What a great way to start and finish!

The weather was pretty good overall and we managed to visit our favourite Osborne House on the sunniest day and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. Other days out took us to Allum Bay where we filled shapes with sand to make our unique mementos and watched a glass blowing demonstration. That day we had a cream tea…..yummee!

We visited Ventnor which led us along the beautiful southern coast line. Also we went to see the wonderful water, music and light show at “Waltzing Waters”. On another lovely day we went to see the animals at “Sea View” and watched the penguins being fed and enjoyed the experience of handling many of the animals there, especially being able to feed the wallabies!

A trip to a Roman villa gave us an insight into times gone by and we thoroughly enjoyed our history lesson. We took a trip to the local lifeboat station and asked questions of one the crew. That day we also went for a walk into our local village and saw an art exhibition. Back at our hotel we played pool, curling and table tennis when time permitted. As it was the festive season, we were lucky enough to see a panto!......oh yes we did.
