The Wonders of the Isle of Wight with Darren & Rachel

Image
The Wonders of the Isle of  Wight We visited Alum Bay where we found the most spectacular viewing point overlooking the infamous landmark, The Needles.  Next, was a trip to the sand shop where we each got to choose a glass ornament and fill it up with different coloured sand that is all found naturally on the island. We couldn’t believe how many different colours there were! Into the sweet factory where we watched a demonstration on sweet making, which we all found fascinating. The best bit…… we got to sample the strawberry & cream sweets that we had just seen being made. The second demonstration of the day was at the glass factory and hear we learnt how glass is blown to make glass ornaments and vases. We all brought a hand made item that is made in the factory as a reminder of our day here.  A competitive game of bowling was had on the seafront at Ryde. We all had fun playing in two teams, trying our best to get a strike!  ...

Exmoor Activity Centre with Steve & Michaela

Exmoor Activity Centre All kitted up we took to the waters where we couldn't wait to make a splash. We navigated our way around and played some fun games……… being careful not to fall in!          Our first test of the week was  crate stacking. We had to stand on two crates and gradually add more crates to the pile whilst balancing on top of them. It was great fun, all though very wobbly but we worked well as a team! We all managed to get to 9 crates high which was amazing and very high when you looked down!   We put on our harness and safety rope and made our way to the climbing wall. We really tested ourselves by climbing the different steep walls and navigating our way up them. We felt a real sense of achievement once we had reached the top.  Off into the woods we went, where we spent a great afternoon learning how to light fires with just flint and steel. With time and patience everyone managed to do this. Lot...

Florida, Parks & Swim with Dolphins An excited group had huge smiles on their faces as we entered the gates of Disney's Magic Kingdom. As we walked up Main Street we could see the magical, fairy tale castle in front of us.    We could feel the excitement brewing as we queued patiently to meet the cheekiest mouse in town. We went into Mickey's rehearsal room, filled with props and posters from his magical career in theatre. He was every bit as friendly as we had imagined and poses were struck, photos were taken and everyone walked away having fulfilled a dream.     The Festival of Fantasy parade was next on the agenda and we were privileged to be able to get a fantastic view on the front row. The parade was a riot of colours and sounds, with all of the famous Disney characters making an appearance. All of our favourites, Mickey Mouse, Alice in Wonderland, the evil Captain Hook and the lovely Cinderella waved as they passed u...
