Attractions of Blackpool with Gary & Isobel

Attractions of Blackpool

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

We were excited to take it the bright lights that Blackpool had to offer and explore the many gift shops and amusement arcade lining the promenade. Some of us treated themselves to a spray on tattoo and were
thrilled with the result.

We took our seats in the Tower Circus armed with popcorn and sweets. It certainly didn't disappoint with amazing performances by trapeze artists, jugglers and dare devil stunts. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments with Mookie the Clown around with his silly pranks and jokes.

A brilliant morning was spent at Madame Tussauds getting up close and personal with some of our favourite celebrities.

We met some of our favourite popstars from the past and present..

...and were on our best behaviour when we met the Royal Family!

There were also some of our favourite sporting legends and we couldn't believe how life like they were. We were amazed at how long the process takes to make these lifelike wax work models.

Wow! What an incredible experience to set foot in the Tower Ballroom where they film the popular TV show Strictly. We took our seats and listened to the organist playing some melodic songs. It was then our turn to take to the floor and show off our dancing expertise!

We love celebrating a birthday on one of our holidays, especially when there is cake involved.

We reached the soaring sights of the Blackpool Tower, heading 380 feet to the top of the tower to experience the thrilling skywalk. The group were brave enough to walk on the glass viewing platform looking all the way down to the promenade below, giving us a 360 degree view for miles along the golden coastline. Another experience we won’t forget.

An ice cream or two is always a must on one of our holidays!

A brilliant morning was spent at the Sealife Centre. Our first stop was in the rock pool area where we were able to get up close and gently stroke the starfish, small crabs and various other small marine life. We watched as the huge Ray fish were swimming around and coming to check us out. It was a thrilling experience walking through the Ocean Glass Tunnel with large sharks swimming above our heads and it was amazing as the giant sea turtle gently glide past us. We also watched a short film on the world’s first Beluga Whale sanctuary on a remote island off the south coast of Iceland.

It was game on as we hit the bowling alley for a competitive game of bowling. There were big scores and some impressive strikes.

It was our lucky day down at the amusement arcade where we spent our holiday pennies on the 2p machines. We won lots of tickets that we could later exchange for some great prizes!
