Norfolk- Boats, Trains & Seaside with Led & Candy

Norfolk- Boats, Trains & Seaside
We put on our life jackets and in no time at all we set sail in our little sailing boats. What an excellent morning out on the river.

We worked well together, and we learnt how to pull the rope from the front sail to catch the wind to make us go faster and change direction.
We all took charge of the boats and took turns to steer it. We couldn’t believe the pace these little boats could go at! The views were stunning and when we weren’t being ‘Captain’ we became nature detectives trying to spot the different types of fish and  birds that lived here.

We ate in a lovely, local restaurant on the broads itself and enjoyed a meal in this wonderful setting. We took in the views, laughed in each- others company and ate like Kings.

Today we were back on our luxury cruiser,  but going the opposite way down the river from yesterday. More incredible views and we couldn’t have felt more relaxed. We spent the afternoon walking along the broads, spotting  the wildlife in their natural surroundings. We stopped and sat, watching the world go by. It really was so peaceful.

Tonight, we celebrated Geoffrey’s birthday in style with a BBQ feast, prepared by chef Led and his able assistants. A memorable evening, sat talking until late into the night. Just perfect.

We got comfortable in the old fashioned carriages and we started our journey through the beautiful Norfolk countryside, arriving at the busy seaside town of Sheringham. As we wandered down the high street we popped into many of the souvenir shops, buying little gifts to take home.

The smell of the fresh sea air was all too tempting and after a walk along Cromer pier we tried our luck at crabbing. It must have been beginners luck! After waiting patiently we managed to catch some! We couldn’t come to the to the seaside without trying the local ice cream, so we did just that!

We made our way down onto the beach for a little paddle, and some stone skimming.

To our surprise there was a Harley Davidson parade in the town. There were hundreds of them and we couldn’t resist having some photos with the bikers in their leathers!
