The Wonders of the Isle of Wight
A great day was spent visiting the infamous tourist attraction, The Needles and filling little glass ornaments with the brightly coloured sands that you find on the island. We took our time carefully filling our creations and and were really pleased with the end result!
Every night we eagerly anticipated the evening shows. We were dazzled with the incredible live performances and we always ended the evening, dancing the night away.
We all love a spot of friendly competition and what a nail biting competition it was. The scores were high with many scoring strikes! The boy, however were crowned champions..... winning by 1 point!!!!
We set sail along the Solent and into Portsmouth and were so lucky to see some of the naval ships. The Spinnaker Tower stood proud out of the water. We couldn't believe how tall it was.
The bubbles from the jacuzzi was the perfect way to relax.
A lovely afternoon was spent at Quarr Abbey, a monastery on the Isle
of Wight which is home to a small group of Benedictine Monks. Here, we looked in the visitors centre and walked around the ruins in the oldest part of the Abbey before
looking at where the daily prayers take
place. We walked around the stunning grounds before sitting in the tea
room garden, enjoying a drink and some tasty cakes.
It was fascinating watching a glass blowing demonstration and seeing the skilled glass blowers at work. Our next lesson was the art of sweet making and luckily for us, we got to sample these tasty treats at the end.
A great week with lovely, warm sunshine and a fun group, who quickly became friends.
Lots of laughs were had and wonderful memories had been made.
