Cyprus Sun
The sun was shinning and we couldn't wait to jump and splash around in the pool. We practised our swimming and loved playing ball games such as 'piggy in the middle'.
The hotel was fantastic and we always looked forward to our evening meal. We loved getting dressed up and we all thought we looked rather smart!
Most evenings you could find us in our favourite bar, dancing the night away to some fantastic tribute acts. We always joined in the fun and particularly loved doing the 'conga'.
We were so lucky to have the most beautiful beach on our doorstep . We couldn't resist the crystal clear waters....even if it was a little chilly!
Our driver and guide for the day took us over
the Turkish border to the abandoned town of Varosha. Everything was left as it was when the town was
abandoned in 1974 when the Turkish military divided the island. It was eerie to
see all the derelict, empty buildings. We visited the beautiful Cathedral, the market stalls and had lunch in a delicious cafe where there so many cakes to choose from.
Soaking up more of the sun we spent the day at the famous Nissi Beach. Well known for its turquoise waters, beach bars and pumping live music.
A memorable day was spent out at sea. We sailed along the coastline with the most stunning views of caves and rocks. We had never seen such crystal clear water and luckily for us we stopped along the way so we were able to cool off and enjoy a swim. It was lovely to enjoy lunch on board the boat as we captured these incredible views.
We couldn't let Mark's birthday go by without celebrating. In true JollyDays style we presented Mark with a birthday present, yummy cake all washed down with champagne. As we sang a very 'Happy Birthday' to him all the waitresses joined in and gave him 3 cheers!
Most afternoons we spent relaxing by the pool and topping up our tans. It was always the perfect way to end our day.
Ice cream is always a good idea.... especially when you're on holiday! We treated ourselves to ice cream sundaes, with every flavour and topping you could imagine.
We wowed the audiences when we took to the microphone for a spot of Karaoke. We sung our hearts out and we were all greeted with a huge round of applause. We felt like we were famous pop stars!
