Disneyland Paris with Jamie & Netty

 Disneyland Paris

The magic of Disney was within us all! With our Minnie/ Mickey Mouse ears already on we headed to the infamous park for the start of our 2 day adventure.
The highlight of our trip could only be meeting the main man himself, the cheekiest and friendliest mouse in the world, Mickey! We were giddy with excitement as we cuddled, shook hands and gave him so many kisses! He surpassed all expectations, and we could have spent all day chatting away to him! A very special moment indeed!

And for another once in a lifetime opportunity was the chance to meet a real princess. We walked inside the castle to be greeted by a very beautiful Snow White. She really was as kind and gentle as we had imagined. Everyone got the chance to kiss and cuddle her and had some wonderful photos taken to remind us of this special moment. Mathew and Chris blushed when she said to them both, “you are my Prince Charming”.

Hilariously we navigated our way through Curious Labyrinth. Following the footsteps of Alice, we embarked on a fantastic voyage into the White Rabbit's hole and out the other side via Tulgey. There were doors of various sizes which led to the Queen of Heart's Castle. Here we spotted the Cheshire Cat's big grin! We navigated our way through the Queen of Hearts' daunting maze, where card soldiers pop up to a scream "Off with their heads" which made us laugh! Continuing with the Alice in Wonderland theme our next ride was the Mad Hatters TeaCups! This most definitely was a firm favourite of ours as we crazily span around, giggling away to each other. To our utter delight we then got to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter himself.

We soared through the sky on Dumbo which gave us amazing views across the park. It was great to be able to control our own flying elephant as we used the lever to go up and down.  Next, we flew around the giant genie lamp and through the skies of Agrabah on our very own magical carpet. When the ride had come to an end the Genie said ‘Ciao, adios, laters dudes’ which had us in hysterics.

This was something that we had all been waiting for! We were dazzled by the Disney Dreams, a magical show with spectacular drone light choreography that illuminated the sky over the Sleeping Beauty Castle as if by magic. This was followed by a spectacular and emotional journey guided by Peter Pan’s shadow, as some of our most loved characters were projected onto the castle. There were ‘wow’s’ galore as the impressive display of fireworks made our jaws drop. It was an unforgettable sight as they exploded in the sky and filled it with colours and light. It really was a moment that we will treasure forever, and we felt lucky to have spent it with each other.

As we walked down Main Street USA, we were just in time to take a roadside view of the infamous Disney Parade. First, dancers filled the street and before our very eyes the most spectacular floats passed us by. Tiana, Aurora, Mickey & Minnie, Genie, The Chipmunks and Goofy all waved and blew kisses to us. The characters got off their float and danced and sang away on a platform and to our surprise fireworks went off from the castle. As you can imagine it was an absolute joy to be part of this celebration. The music had really put us in a carnival spirit and when the parade had finished, we carried on dancing away in our own magical world.

Another hit with our group was Toy Story Land. Right before our eyes was a gigantic Buzz Lightyear. Everyone did their best impression “to infinity and beyond’.
Toy Story Soldier Drop was next on our list. We rounded up our army recruits (or daredevils) and braced ourselves for the 82-foot drop above an army base full of lookout towers and over-sized green toy soldiers. It's as if you're part of one big play set! There was a spring in our step as we bounced up, down and all around on the back of Slinky Dog as he tried to catch his tail.

One of the most memorable moments of our day was watching Mickey and the Magician show. We followed Mickey as he is given the task of cleaning up the room at night before sunrise, the young apprentice gets distracted. Tinker Bell goes on to spread a little stardust and nothing turns out as expected. Mickey finds himself accidentally transported to the most magical worlds, featuring Genie, Lumière and Rafiki. Finally, Mickey becomes the hero in this incredible show where illusion is key, and we were mesmerised.

It’s a Small World took us on a trip through miniature scenes from across the globe. We travelled through London spotting Big Ben and Tower Bridge, through Austria and the snowy mountains all the way to Hollywood and to Ancient Egypt. There was so much detail out into each and every scene and we couldn't get the catchy theme song out of our head for the reast of the day!

Walt Disney Studios offers an insight into the glitz and glamour of the movie world where we set eyes on the Marvel Avengers Campus and took our seats on the Spider-Man W.E.B Adventure, a 4D interactive ride where we were invited to put on 3D glasses and help Spider-Man sling webs at the onscreen bots causing havoc.  We saw Iron-Man waving at us from above on a gantry, on the Avengers Assemble- Flight Force ride. This ride was not for the faint hearted as we were whisked around at high speed in the dark on this thrilling roller coaster. The daredevils then took on the mighty Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and our stomachs lurched as we dropped through the many floors of this iconic ride. The adrenaline junkies amongst us took  on the mighty Thunder Mountain Canyon as the early evening sun was just about setting, this added to the spooky atmosphere.

We couldn’t resist at ice cream treat in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head and as we ate the tasty chocolate ears, we watched the graceful Carousel going round and round and that was where we headed next.
