New Year's Party with Marguerite & Leo

 New Year's Party

2024 here we come! Our party goers couldn't wait to celebrate here at Warners. We had all bought our dancing shoes!

The evening entertainment never disappointed! Live performances with perfectly polished dance routines, beautiful singing voices and incredible costumes always had us singing away at the tops of our voices.

Everyone got the chance to try laser pistol shooting. This proved to be a huge hit and was great fun. Mikey excelled at this and racked up the highest score in a round. Well done Mikey! The speed round was really exciting as we paired up and had to shoot at the target as quickly as possible, scoring and lighting the lights up in green before the timer ran out. It was exhilarating.

The games continued with a few rounds of darts. Things then heated up as we split into two teams and it was game on as we pushed the curls towards the scoring mat.

It was then time to take our seats for the eagerly awaited afternoon pantomime of Cinderella. This was so much fun with lots of audience participation of ‘oh no it isn’t and oh yes, it is’. The ugly sisters were hilarious and forgot their lines a few times which added to the constant humour of the show. We were able to meet the cast following their performance and of course a group photograph with them which made for a great memento.

We loved making a splash in the onsite swimming pool practising our swimming and playing games.

With our party clothes on, we were ready to celebrate New Years Eve! The evening began with the sounds of the Scottish pipes, and we were all on our feet watching as he made his way around the vast room before leading us all outside to watch the spectacular firework display. The different colours lit up the night sky, it was a wonderful sight along with the ‘oohs and ahhs’ from us all as they shot up exploding above us.

We hit the dance floor and that’s where we stayed joining in the fun with everyone. The Jerseys continued the music with a tribute to Franki Valli and the Four Seasons and we danced the night away until the live countdown. As the clock struck midnight, balloons were released from the ceiling and gold party streamers covered us all as we wished each other a Happy New Year and linked arms whilst singing Auld Lang Syne. The party celebrations continued until early hours of the morning until we finally collapsed into bed at 2am after a fabulous night of fun and festivity.

Twixmas with Oli & Laura

 Twixmas

Christmas had arrived and it didn't take us long to get into the festive spirit!

Merry Christmas! We woke to presents galore from family and our friends at JollyDays. To our utter delight we got to meet the main man himself and chatted away to him and luckily for us he had just enough time for a photo!

After our active days there was nothing better than relaxing in the warm jacuzzi bubbles!

It was game on down at the pool table as we made our own mini tournament. Everyone certainly improved over the week.

The games continued and we challenged each other to numerous games of Scrabble.

We spent the day exploring the island and visited the tourist hot spot The Needles.

We couldn't resist visiting the RNLI who work so hard to keep us safe at sea.

A heart warming morning was spent at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary where we had 119 donkeys to see and learn about! We spent time with them, visiting various barns and fields. They all looked so happy and well cared for as we went around stroking them and having our photos taken with them. Our favourite donkey was ‘Colin Senior’ a grumpy old one-eyed donkey which absolutely delighted our very own Colin.

Every evening we were treated to some incredible shows. One of our favourites was the mesmerizing 'Royal Rhapsody' a tribute to the iconic rock band 'Queen'. We all had our air guitars out in full and with smiles on our faces we rocked the night away.

Bell ringing also proved to be a hit with our group and before long we had perfected a well know Christmas carol.

A sumptuous New Years dinner was the perfect way to kick start the celebrations. With smiles on our faces we pulled crackers, donned party hats and enjoyed the fun props. Next was the addressing of the haggis, a Scottish tradition that involves an ancient poem. Then of course the island's famous bagpiper serenaded us for several songs.

We then danced and sang in the New Year with the house band and with the whole entertainments team counting down to midnight. There was party poppers and hugs galore as we sang Auld Lang Syne then began boogying on down to some classics. We ended our night in the early hours, well beyond the lively disco that ushered in the New Year with joyous celebration, in fact, we were the only ones left on the dance floor! We all wished a Happy New Year to some of the staff and other guests who had really become like friends throughout our stay.

The spectacular firework display had us mesmerised by the kaleidoscope of colours in the night sky.

The shooting range was great fun and after a few practise rounds we were all hitting the target.
