Butlins, Fun & Dancing (Minehead) with Isobel & Darren

 Butlins, Fun & Dancing

We always love meeting Billy Bear and messing around on the Butlins paraphernalia! There is always so much to see and do here.

We whizzed around the Go Kart track with some of the group cheering us on. We managed the whole course without any scrapes or bumps and celebrated in style on the winners podium.

It was game on down at the bowling alley. We split into two teams and what a brilliant few games we had. There were lots of strikes and some incredible, high scores. The final result was in, and we crowned Keith the winner of the men's team with a whopping score of 102 and Tracey the winner of the ladies team with an amazing score of 98!

The sun was shining as we took a lovely stroll down to the Cliff Railway admiring the rapid flowing waters of the River Lyn as it gushes down to the open sea. The Cliff Railway is the most exciting way to travel between Lynmouth and Lynton and is the steepest, totally water powered railway in the world.

As we slowly made our way up to Lynton, we admired the breathtaking views over the Bristol Channel, which separates South Wales from Somerset and North Devon. Once we had reached the top, we stopped and took in our beautiful surroundings; the sea looked magical as it glistened in the sun. We then enjoyed lunch in a lovely cafe before visiting some of the local shops for some postcards and souvenirs.

We could never resist a tempting ice cream treat. Well, we were on holiday after all!

As always, the live shows were outstanding. One night we were  treated to a fantastic tribute to Cher and ABBA. We couldn’t sit still for very long and we made our way onto the dance floor and sang and danced away to our favourite hits.

Down at the arcades we tried our luck on the penny machines and were thrilled to win some great prizes!

The friendly Redcoats always took the time to chat to us about our fantastic holiday. They love to dance the night away to the disco hits just like us!

Most evenings before dinner, we spent some time having a few friendly games of pool. By the end of the week we were almost pro's!

We had the best night at the REDS nightclub where there was an incredible tribute to Take That. We all agreed it was the best show of the week! It didn't take long for us to get up and make our way to the dance floor. We were able to get so close to the stage and we absolutely loved the atmosphere! It was electric.  It had been the most memorable night.

We love celebrating a birthday on our JollyDays holidays. Who doesn't love cake?!
