Attractions of Blackpool with Sandra & Darren

 Attractions of Blackpool

What a fantastic week we enjoyed at Ribby Hall Village, with Blackpool right on our doorstep! From classic seaside attractions and exciting rides to wonderful entertainment, delicious meals and plenty of laughter, our JollyDays group certainly made the most of everything this brilliant part of the Lancashire coast had to offer. The sunshine and lively seaside atmosphere made for a wonderful welcome.

Before long, we found ourselves drawn into the arcades, where the 2p machines proved a big hit! There was plenty of excitement as everyone tried their luck, hoping to send sweets and prizes tumbling into the trays. A little friendly competition and lots of laughter made this a brilliant start to the day.

After lunch, we headed to Madame Tussauds Blackpool. It was great fun exploring the attraction, spotting familiar celebrity faces and posing for photographs with the incredibly lifelike figures. There were plenty of amusing poses and memorable pictures to look back on!

Today's highlight was a visit to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Stepping inside was like entering another world, with its sparkling chandeliers, elegant surroundings and beautifully polished dance floor. We watched in admiration as the dancers glided effortlessly around the ballroom, creating a truly special atmosphere. A lovely cup of tea or coffee and some cake made the experience even better!

It was off to Sea Life Blackpool, where we discovered a fascinating underwater world. Walking through the aquarium tunnels gave us wonderful views of colourful fish, sharks and all sorts of amazing sea creatures swimming around and above us. There were plenty of opportunities to take photographs and enjoy the interactive displays.

This afternoon was something completely different as we visited the Blackpool Dungeons! With live actors, special effects and interactive storytelling, we discovered some of the darker chapters of history. There were a few scary moments along the way, but everyone embraced the experience, and there was plenty of laughter afterwards as we chatted about our favourite parts.

Next up was Blackpool Pleasure Beach! We headed into the park, ready to explore the rides and soak up the atmosphere. There were plenty of thrills for the brave among us, with some taking on the exciting Revolution rollercoaster while others preferred to enjoy the sights and sounds from the side lines. One of the biggest highlights was when we all decided to take on the log flume together. There were screams, laughter and plenty of splashes, and a fantastic group photograph captured the moment perfectly!

A must was a visit to  the famous Blackpool Tower. We travelled right to the top, where breathtaking views stretched across the town and coastline. For some of us, the glass SkyWalk was a real test of courage! Stepping out onto the glass platform high above Blackpool certainly brought a few nerves, but everyone rose to the challenge. Once out there, we could appreciate the spectacular views and capture some fantastic photographs. What a brilliant achievement.

Our next stop was the Blackpool Tower Circus, where we enjoyed an afternoon of wonderful entertainment. From hilarious clowns and impressive acrobatics to daring stunts, there was something to make everyone laugh, cheer and gasp. It was a fantastic show and a fitting highlight for our final day.
