Turkey & Tinsel
We decided to visit Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for the afternoon. We had our lunch and then started exploring. We visited the Dockyard Apprentice Exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed all the exhibits. We were lucky enough to see HMS Victory and the new Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier.
We were keen to try all the fun activities they had to offer. Joining in with the Line Dancing lessons which we all mastered really quickly and soon knew the routine perfectly. We learnt to play Deck the Halls in the hand bell ringing lesson before finishing the afternoon off placing our bets on the Horse Racing game, where a delighted Chris won!
We put on our party clothes and took our seats in the dining room, ready for our traditional Christmas dinner. The table was decorated with crackers and party poppers and we couldn't wait to put on our festive hats and tell the funny cracker jokes. Santa surprised us with a visit and he gave us all a gift. He spent a long time chatting with us. What a memorable night.
It was Panto time....oh yes it was! A fabulously entertaining performance of Dick Whittington had us clapping along to all the songs and booing at the baddies.
We celebrated our pretend New Years Eve in style. After another delicious feast we took to the dance floor as the ABBA tribute band blasted out their famous hits. As the clock struck midnight, balloons fell from the ceiling and we joined hands and sang Auld Lang Syne. Such a super celebration.
Nothing like a bit of fresh sea air to blow away the cobwebs! We watched some surfers ride the huge waves. It was great to see... maybe next time we'd have a go!
