The Wonders of the Isle of Wight with Andy, Nick & Donna

The Wonders of the Isle of Wight

We visited the Needles at Alum Bay. Such beautiful views of the coastline. We visited the gift shop that sold the different coloured sand and many of us filled glass ornaments to take home. We then watched a demonstration on how glass is blown and watched in amazement as the man made a vase in front our very eyes!!

We then made our way to the sweet factory, where we watched the remarkable process of rhubarb and custard sweets being made. Luckily for us we got to sample the sweets at the end.

In Godshill, we explored the amazing Model Village they have there. We walked around the fabulous model village and enjoyed looking at the miniature houses, crafted trees and shrubs.

We took to the open seas on the Wight Scene Cruise boat, which took us on a magical tour around the Solent. Our tour began through Cowes Harbour we then sailed out into the Solent which gave us fantastic views of the islands coastline, Osborne House and Norris Castle. We saw the last working paddle steamer and The Waverley.

We went to Arreton Barns Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum, where we spent the morning learning about HMS Mendi and other ships that sailed in history.

Our evening were fantastic! We enjoyed joining in the line dancing and watched amazing shows and all enjoyed a good old sing along. We danced to the live band and some disco hits until late.
