Spain - PortAventura with Darren & Jackie
Spain - PortAventura
On the first day at the park, the excitement kicked off with Furius Baco, a high-speed launch coaster that delivered an intense adrenaline rush from the very start. This was followed by the Grand Canyon Rapids, where everyone got soaked (twice!) while spinning through the water. In the Mexico area, the group enjoyed a gentler carousel ride before taking on El Diablo – Tren de la Mina, a fast and twisting mine train coaster. The day ended with a more relaxed teacups ride and plenty of laughs while sharing favourite moments.
The second day brought even more variety. In the Sesame Street area, the group enjoyed lighter rides including a gentle aeroplane ride and the Magic Fish attraction, steering colourful fish across the water. A major highlight was the Magico Bubble Show, where impressive bubble tricks created a magical atmosphere. The biggest thrill came from Shambhala, one of Europe’s tallest roller coasters, which delivered huge drops, intense speed, and unforgettable airtime—becoming the standout ride of the trip.
Away from the theme park, the holiday balanced thrills with relaxation and exploration. The group enjoyed strolls along Salou’s seafront, shopping for souvenirs, and trying local food including crepes, tapas, seafood, ice cream, and treats from cafés. A visit to the bustling Mercadillo (weekly market) added a lively cultural experience, with shopping, browsing, and a chance to soak up the local atmosphere. There were also plenty of laid-back moments, including time in the hotel spa with jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, as well as poolside relaxation.
