Duxford & Shuttleworth Aviation with Midi and Isobel

 Duxford & Shuttleworth Aviation

JollyDays very first Aviation Holiday in Cambridgeshire was great fun for us all and packed with aviation highlights.

Duxford Air Museum completely wowed us with its incredible aircraft, from Spitfires and Concorde to enormous American bombers.
Watching planes take off and land, hearing the engines roar, and learning the stories behind the displays made the history feel truly alive.

The Shuttleworth Museum was just as special, with its beautiful setting, vintage planes, classic vehicles, and peaceful Swiss Gardens — the perfect mix of learning and relaxation.

We also enjoyed a fantastic day at theBedfordshire Steam & Country Fayre, where vintage tractors, steam engines, animals and classic vehicles were everywhere you looked. One of the biggest thrills was seeing Spitfires flying overhead — a real goosebump moment!

A change of pace came with a visit to Cambridge, where we explored the Museum of Zoology.
We also wandered by the
river watching the punts, popped into shops, and admired the city’s beautiful old buildings and colleges.

Another standout moment was our trip to Woburn Safari Park. Seeing lions, giraffes, rhinos, and bears up close was unforgettable — and the monkeys climbing onto the minibus gave us a big laugh! The lemur walk-through was a firm favourite and a real “wow” moment for everyone.
