Chester Zoo & Blue Planet Aquarium
We're all going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. You can come too, too, too was the song of choice as we made our way to Chester Zoo for our first animal adventure.
There were so many enclosure's for us to explore. The giraffes and were some of our favourites and we could have watched them for hours.
Our underwater adventure took us to the incredible Blue Planet Aquarium. We were immersed in the Amazon Rainforest where black bellied piranha's swam past us before we visited one of their most popular attractions Coral Cave which is home to over 50 species of tropical fish in every colour imaginable.
We couldn't resist a stop at the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs to remind us of our day.
We took our seats in the Aqua Theatre and watched as the presenter told
us some interesting facts of the fascinating creatures as they swam around the
huge tank. Two divers joined in the presentation and demonstrated the
chaos almost like a tornado in the tank at feeding time. The Ocean Tunnel was
finally upon us; we had all been so excited to experience this and we were not
disappointed. As we slowly walked through the underwater tunnel, we could learn
more about life in the Caribbean Reef. With the 360 view we found ourselves
surrounded overhead by one of Europe's largest collection of sharks which was a
truly remarkable experience.
We all laughed as one of the monkeys jumped on the minibus, trying to pull off one of the windscreen wipers before running away!
We couldn't resist a stop at the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs to remind us of our day.
