Warners Leisure Resort (Alvaston) with Oli, Isobel & Marguerite

 Warners Leisure Resort (Alvaston)

What a beautiful setting for our holiday. The half timbered country house was set in the most pristinely kept ground.

A day of being tourists was had as we
headed out to explore the beautiful city of Chester. Our first stop was by the river Dee where we hopped on board a cruiser which took us on a fabulous tour with an audio description of various points of interest. Once we got back on dry land, we took our seats on the open top bus for an hour’s drive through the historic streets of Chester. We learnt so much about the delightful wooden beamed Tudor buildings and about Chester's occupation by the Romans. After a lovely lunch enjoyed in a great pub that was situated on the riverside which also had a floating beer garden, we took a lovely stroll through the town centre admiring the buildings and architecture from a different angle.

We made use of the fabulous onsite activities as we hit the archery range doing our best to hit the target. Next we participated in a curling competition which we all agreed that we did a pretty good job at.

Lots of laughs were had as we joined in with the line dancing lesson. After a few wrong steps we had soon mastered the do-si-do and looked like pro's!

The live evening entertainment never failed to disappoint. We were treated to show stopping performances and a hilarious comedy act. Our JollyDays group were always the last on the dance floor showing off our disco moves.

super morning was spent in Nantwich, exploring the streets surrounded by beautiful Tudor and Georgian architecture which looked even more spectacular decorated with bunting and flags ready for the King’s Coronation.

We visited the indoor market and popped into some of the small boutique shops where the group were able to buy some souvenirs and gifts to take home. After that, we visited the Nantwich Museum where we learnt the history of Cheshire cheese, one of the oldest recorded named cheeses in British history. We also learnt about the Great Fire of Nantwich and the local salt making industry. It was so interesting seeing all the artefacts on display
