Butlins, Fun & Dancing
Our fun, filled holiday started as it meant to go on and we loved posing with all the Butlins paraphernalia!
The friendly Red Coats always make us feel so welcome and find the time to chat with us. They also love dancing the night away to all the disco hits.
One of our favourite places to visit is Natureland Seal Sanctuary. They are known for rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned and injured seal pups along the Lincolnshire coast. We were fortunate to watch and learn a lot about the adult seals that they have at the centre. Two of which are a grand old age of 17! They were pleased to see us as they waved as we watched them being fed. We then saw the young seals being fed one of which is a 1-year-old all black pup whose name is Nero; he is a real cheeky boy.
Our next stop was inside the hospital unit where at the moment they are caring for four 1 month old pups. We were pleased to hear that they were doing really well and will hopefully make it back to the wild when they have gained a bit more weight. Next on the agenda was to visit some of the furrier types of animals. We fed the greedy goats and marvelled at the funny little meerkats.
A morning was spent at the funfair where we tried our luck on the fairground stalls. We were all lucky winners and won some great prizes. The adrenaline junkies amongst us bumped and crashed into each other on the dodgems and whizzed around on the waltzer.
The sun was shining and we couldn't resist a trip to the beach although we only dipped our toes in the water as it was still a little chilly.
The afternoon was spent at the bowling alley where our competitive side came out. We decided to split into two groups girls vs boys! After some incredible shots and a few strikes Lesley was top of the leader board for the girls and Peter W was out in front for the boys. There could only be one winner and Peter W was crowned champion with 122 points!
