Lake District Activity Centre with Karen, Midi, Darren, Barbara

Lake District Activity Centre

Let the fun begin! Down by the lake we put on all our waterproof gear and lifejackets and were set the challenge of tying our canoes together to make them more secure.

We soon became experts, working together to paddle our canoe so we didn't just end up going round and round in circles! We played fun games, chasing the rubber ducks and enjoyed soaking up the beautiful scenery.

Some of us were brave enough to have a swim!

There were so many amazing activities for us to try. It got competitive down at the archery range as we tried our hardest to hit the bullseye! The ping pong table saw some fantastic rallies and we scored highly on the bowels mat.

We especially loved working together in pairs to see who could build the tallest tower out of crates.

Feeling adventurous we were ready to explore the underground caves at Ingleborough Hill. We entered the Long Churns Caves; having to paddle along, lit only by the headlamps on our helmets. The entire group grew in confidence, helping and supporting each other along the way.
As we got further into the cave the water swirled up to our knees and for some it went up to our waists! As we reached the indoor waterfall we were successful in crawling around the back of the racing waterfall to reach the other side. Everyone came out of the caves feeling a huge sense of achievement despite being soaking wet.

The glorious sunshine made our walk through the picturesque countryside even more beautiful .

We managed to find river at the bottom of the valley and enjoyed listening to the sound of the water crashing against its banks.

One group went on a challenging lakeside cycle ride. Everyone was so enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to get going. The scenery was breathtaking as we followed the lake on our right with the rolling hills to our left.
After an impressive five and a half miles we had made it to Wray Castle. The castle was picturesque, almost Disney-like in appearance.

The other group stayed onsite and had a blast riding their way along the bike tracks, swapping bikes along the way.

Who doesn't love whizzing down the zip line? As you can see, we had a great time making all different poses high up in the air.

Nothing beats a good old campfire, full of delicious, gooey, marshmallowy treats. The group sat and listened and sang along to Harry as he played his ukulele.

What goes up.......must come down!
We scrambled to the top of the cliff top like mountain goats. Then, with help from our guide we abseiled our way back down like pro's.

Some of us tackled the indoor climbing wall and  were so proud of our achievements when we reached the top.

A picture perfect day was spent cruising on the calm waters of Lake Windermere. It was so relaxing as we watched the world go by, admiring the incredible views.

It was thumbs up from us as we had competently completed all the challenges that had been set by Bendrigg.

We were each presented with a certificate, and we happily celebrated each others achievements.
