The Wonders of the Isle of Wight
Our evenings were filled with a range of fantastic shows which ranged from live bands and tribute act. This was the perfect opportunity for us to show off our brilliant dance moves!
We
boarded the minibus and with great sunny weather we drove across the island to
Osborne House.
The
house and gardens looked stunning in the glorious sunshine and we enjoyed
learning about its history. We took a bus to where Queen Victoria's children
used to go to the beach.
We did a spot
of tenpin bowling and everybody played really well with some successful strikes.
Our next place of interest was to visit
Quarry Abbey where we had the most delightful sandwiches made with the Monks
own produce such as free range eggs. We visited the Abbey's own pigs before
the drive back.
At the
Needles we stopped for photos before making our way to the glass factory where
we saw bespoke glass blowing. We found it really fascinating. Some of us filled ornate glass jars with different coloured sands as a lovely souvenir.
Arriving
via Ventnor to The Donkey Sanctuary where we all patted and fed the donkeys. We
were amazed at how old some of them were.
