Norfolk - Boats, Trains & Seaside
We boarded a bass boat which was a ten person sailing boat
used to teach us the basics of sailing. Some of us rode along side in the
safety boat too. We headed along the river until we reached Barton Broad where
we hoisted the main sail and glided across the water.
In the town of Holt we visited the train museum before boarding our steam
train and heading south along the Norfolk coast line taking in some of the most
spectacular scenery that Norfolk has to offer.
We drove to Wayford Bridge where we met our
transport for the day, we were to paddle four Canadian Canoes. The adventure took us through stunning
countryside and passed nesting swans and ducks. We saw kingfishers and even an
otter graced us with his presence.
At Strikers Ten Pin Bowling we
held the Jolly Days championship bowling tournament and as it was Easter the
prizes were chocolate eggs, much to the delight of our winners, Aimee, Craig
and Ashley.
We boarded onto Nancy Bee which was a 40ft motor cruiser with a slide back
roof. We cruised the broads all day long and visited many different points of
interest including Wroxham, Walsham and Womak. We all had a chance to drive the
boat along the rivers and broads.
