Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country with Steve & Michaela

Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country

We took a scenic route across the North York moors to Helmsley where the Duncombe park annual steam fair was being held. We spent most of the day at the rally and we all had a great time admiring over 350 different steam engines, vintage cars and motorcycles of all shapes and sizes.

During our holiday we enjoyed many delicious BBQ's, thanks to our chef Steve!

We went to Emmerdale country and visited the famous Woolpack where we followed in the footsteps of Allan Turner and Amos Brearly. We then walked around the village and bought gifts in the post office.

We went to Ripon races and enjoyed a meal while watching the horses compete.

On the way back we stopped at Gianni’s ice cream parlour and all enjoyed the delicious Italian ice cream.

In Embsay we boarded the Steam train to Bolton Abbey. We had a fantastic time riding the vintage train in the first class carriage of the directors coach.

We took a scenic drive across the Yorkshire moors to the Heartbeat country. Once there we went to Aidensfield where we visited Scripp’s garage and the post office. We wandererd through the village in the footsteps of all our favourite characters.

In the seaside town of Whitby we enjoyed a stroll along the waters edge before dinner at a local fish & chip shop followed by ice creams.

We visited a working farm where we had a tremendous time feeding the lambs and brushing the pigs. We also met the goats, horses, cows and handled the rabbits and many other animals.

At the chocolate factory we browsed through the devine collection of chocolate. We then went to visit the ice cream factory where we ended our tour with a delicious ice cream!
