Isle of Wight with Derek & Jen

Every day we enjoyed a full breakfast and a splendid evening meal with plenty of choice. As usual our nights were spent in the main ballroom enjoying the fabulous entertainment of guest acts and the resident show team. We would always be found dancing the night away and normally the last to leave the disco.

Luckily, we were blessed with a week of good weather and enjoyed travelling around the island taking in the beautiful countryside as we went.

Days out took us to fill our sand shapes and to watch the glass blowing demonstration at Allum Bay. Osborne House was high on the agenda and we all enjoyed the grounds and the house. We were lucky to be able to go to the newly opened beach area where Queen Victoria bathed. There was even a “Punch & Judy” show to enjoy.

On one of our days out we visited the Seaview Wildlife Encounter. It was great as we could feed the wallabies and the penguins. It was possible to handle many of the animals and bugs which made for a great experience. We also visited the donkey sanctuary, the model village at Godshill and Ventnor Botanic garden.

When we had a little time to spare we also managed to play snooker, table tennis and to take a swim. Naturally, no holiday is complete without a visit to a good ice cream van (overlooking a beautiful coastline) and a cream tea!

Everyone got on very well and new friendships were made. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
