The Wonders of the Isle of Wight
In the evening we wasted
no time in getting on the dance floor and spent the rest of the evening
enjoying the incredible entertainments.
At the
Needles we went up to the viewing platform and admired the
stunning views of the famous landmark.
As a souvenir we enjoyed
making sand glass ornaments with all the different coloured sands.
We
watched the glass blowers who made some lovely bowls and vases follow by a visit to the sweet
factory where we watched the sweet maker demonstrating how he made Rhubarb and
Custard sweets and we were lucky enough to try these delicious sweets!
On
the way back to our hotel we stopped at Freshwater Bay on the cliff top and
admired the spectacular views!
We
visited Quarr Abbey, this is home to a small group of Benedictine Monks. We sat
and had our lunch before visiting the chapel and the visitors centre which some
of the group attempted to create their own stain glassed window using a puzzle
in the centre.
At Ten
Pin Bowling we had a fantastic game with lots of strikes and some great high scores. Well done to the all group
for their great effort and brilliant sportsmanship!
After a cruise around the
Isle of Wight to Portsmouth we drove along the coastline to Shanklin Beach, where we enjoyed an ice cream sitting on
the beach. Some of us couldn't resist a paddle in the sea, what a wonderful day!
