A Stroll in the Peak District
We went to the White Peak area to walk along the river at Dovedale. The scenery here was very pretty and some of us were able to cross the river by the famous stepping stones. We walked along the river path with great views of the magnificent Thorpe Cloud Hill and stopped for a picnic.
Another day we drove further into The Peak District to Edale in the High Peak area. This pretty village sits in the shadow of the famous Kinder Scout and is the start of The Pennine Way.
We visited The National Tramway Museum. We stepped back in time as we
strolled down the period village street with it’s shops and pub. We then took a
ride on a beautifully restored Blackpool tram that was shaped like a boat!
The sun came out and we had a great
time exploring the beautiful gardens and fountains of Chatsworth House. It was
a fantastic time of year to see all the colourful blooms at their best.
