Isle of Wight with Pat & Adrian

Although we started our holiday with typical April showers, we did not let this dampen our spirit. As always on our Isle of Wight holidays, we all get to know each other over lunch on the first day on the south coast before we take the ferry across the Solent. This time we stopped for lunch in a lovely family-run cafe in Lymington.

All week we made the most of the delicious three course meals at Warner's Norton Grange Coastal Village. We needed the energy, as we also made the most of the disco each night, dancing the night away!

We were lucky that the weather picked up for the rest of the week, and we had a couple of beautiful spring days. We visited Alum Bay, from where we could see the famous Needles. We watched the amusement park and the chair lift, which takes people down to the beach below. We filled our shapes with multi-coloured sand, taken from the local cliffs. We also visited the shops, with some buying rock as a tasty souvenir, and we watched a glass blowing demonstration, which was interesting and beautiful to see being made.

At the hotel resort we enjoyed the games room, especially fun was playing table tennis. Another outing we made was to the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, where we got to see many handsome donkeys, stroking some as well. In the afternoon we also went bowling, where amazingly everyone scored a strike!

One afternoon we headed off to see the Waltzing Waters – an elaborate water, light and music display. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful production – Walter especially, as he sang along to all the Disney tunes.

It was a lovely complement on the last evening at the resort that so many people came to say goodbye to us, saying how much they had enjoyed our company. We love the Isle of Wight so much that we’re going there six more times this year - give us a call if you want to join us!
